The Sound Healing Retreat Team

The Sound Healing Retreat brings together a small group of experienced practitioners, teachers and creatives, each contributing something unique to your time at Bowen Island.

Together, we’ll guide you through sound, movement, mindfulness and the spaces in between, while making sure you feel supported throughout your journey from student to sound practitioner.

KASIA - Founder & Lead Educator

Kasia is the founder of Mystic Meditations and creator of its CMA-accredited Sound Practitioner Certification. Her background in music, neuroscience training through the University of Pennsylvania, and trauma-informed training through Somatic Experiencing International inform her approach to sound and facilitation.

For more than four years, she has taught and developed sound practitioner trainings in Vancouver, from foundational certification through advanced facilitation. The Bowen Island curriculum brings these areas together into one comprehensive training, with an emphasis on nervous system regulation, session design, music theory and trauma-aware practice.

Kasia has facilitated more than 2,000 sound and wellness experiences and trained over 200 practitioners. Alongside her work in sound education, she is a music producer and recording artist whose creative work has received national arts funding. Her background in music deeply influences how she approaches sound, from harmony and dynamics to pacing, sequencing and silence.

Her methodology has been presented through the International Sound Therapy Association and published through the Wellness Alliance. More than anything, Kasia loves bringing people together through sound, whether in a classroom, at the ocean, through music, or through the many events that have shaped Mystic Meditations over the years.

JAIME - Nourishing & Hosting

Jaime is the heart behind The Sound Healing Retreat, bringing together her love of gathering people, nourishing food, nature and creating spaces that feel thoughtful and personal.

Living on Bowen Island and deeply connected to life by the ocean, she has intentionally shaped the weekend from the meals around the table to the small details shaped throughout each day. Her role is to hold the experience as a whole, making sure guests feel welcomed, cared for and free to settle into their own journey.

For Jaime, this is where the things she loves most come together: good food, beautiful surroundings, meaningful connection and taking care of people.

ASHLEY -  Photography & Story

With over 15 years of experience in photography, Ashley has a gift for capturing natural, honest moments and the beauty found in connection. Her work is deeply inspired by nature, mindfulness and a love of wild places.

Also trained in yoga, breathwork and meditation, Ashley brings a grounded presence to everything she does. Her work has been featured in Yoga Trade, The Fit Traveller, Warriors of the Divine and Destination Wedding.

Throughout the retreat, Ashley will be capturing authentic moments of your experience, giving you beautiful imagery to take with you as you begin your journey as a sound practitioner.

SAJA - Supporting the Sound

Saja is a certified sound practitioner and early childhood educator whose work is rooted in emotional balance, nervous system support and intentional presence. Her approach is compassionate and trauma-aware, creating space for each person to move at their own pace.

Using crystal singing bowls, chimes, gentle percussion, breath and intentional silence, Saja creates experiences centred around softness, safety and connection. As a Mystic Meditations graduate, she brings both her training and lived experience as a caregiver and educator into the way she holds space for others.
